Morphological and Biochemical Diversity in Fruits of Unsprayed Rosa canina and Rosa dumalis Ecotypes Found in Different Agroecological Conditions

The Rosa is one of the most diverse genera in plant kingdom and, particular, its fruits have been used for multiple purposes different parts world centuries. Within genus, canina and dumalis are, economically, important species dominate fruit production. In this study, some shrub traits ten ecotypes collected from rural areas Kars province, located east Anatolia region Turkey were investigated. We found significant differences among morphological biochemical traits. between 1446–2210 m altitude. Fruit weight flesh ratio ranged 2.95 g to 4.72 62.55% 74.42%, respectively. SSC (Soluble Solid Content), Vitamin C, total phenolic, flavonoid, carotenoid, anthocyanin content 16.9–22.7%, 430–690 mg per 100 FW (fresh weight), 390–532 gallic acid equivalent FW, 0.88–2.04 6.83–15.17 3.62–7.81 cyanidin-3-glucoside kg, Antioxidant activity was determined be 19.7–34.7 ascorbic fresh weight. contained chlorogenic rutin as phenolic compound. Our results indicated great diversity within both R. fruits.
